It may not have been a weather balloon--what kind of weather can you detect 500 feet off the ground? But, I really don't think little green men are going to come to earth from another planet to dognap your pet. If there were other beings out there with the capability and intelligence to rocket between planets, I don't feel like they want goober from podunk! Maybe if they were to take Donald Trump or Bill Gates up to probe their minds then return them, there may be a case for UFO's. Until then, I don't believe we have been visited either in Memphis, Roswell, or FC.
I can swear as a witness that we were visited in Eureka Springs by a UFO in Aug 1971 hovering near our house in the woods about 200ft above ground. We ran outside and yelled at them but they did not come down. No green men but a saucer with lights making the humming noise at midnight as it shined lights down into the woods. In the blink of an eye it was gone into the universe. No alcohol, no drugs, just clean happy living and a very wonderful experience for me. I looked for UFO's as a kid in FC but never saw anything (well, maybe some green men) and have not seen one since. You could be so lucky!!!
