CLASS of 82

Preston: There are lots of you guys on here from the 50's and 60's...but I have to tell you the early 80's were not that much different in Forrest City....The only thing that was different was that we hung out at The Sonic instead of The Skipper. We still enjoyed going to the Imperial to the movie...but were given a second choice for a couple of years after The Twin Cinema opened...and we were still able to enjoy The Skyway Drive In.....Is there anyone else out there who graduated in the early 80's?

I graduated in 82, but not from Forrest City. I grew up in Forrest City though 1979 and then my parents, Ollie and Brenda Warren, moved us to Little Rock where I began 10th grade and eventually graduated from Little Rock Hall. I have always gone back to the reunions for the class of 82, though, because these guys are my childhood friends and those I won't forget.

I remember the Imperial theater and the stories my Dad used to tell me about him falling asleep in the theater and being locked in.... I visited the Diamond Burger often and also waiting for my boyfriend at the old cleaners on the corner by the old High School before walking to the Junior High. My memory from the cafeteria, though, was those wonderful sugar cookies! And I played in the band and what is weird, Mr. Fowler, our band director is now known by my children in the Marion School District!

As I am getting older, I forget so many things, so if you are a graduate of the early 80's fill in some missing stories for me. Thanks.

Hi Rae. Not sure if you remember me, but I too was in the band. We just had our 25-year reunion, so that means you guys are next!

It's so much fun to reminisce about the silly stuff we did back in the day: toilet papering teachers houses (teachers who shall remain nameless, especially since they still show up at class reunions from time to time), throwing biscuits at each others cars (forget about all those starving kids in China), hanging out at the Delt frat house (remember Bamboo Blow-out?), or just cruising between the Minute Man and the Sonic with our music blaring. We thought we were so radical and cutting edge cool, but my gosh were we ever innocent! Especially by today's standards.

Where do you live now and who do you keep up with from the Class of 82?
