50's Culture: Memphis Zoo

How many of these shots must still be out there all dusty in the bottom of old boxes? Dig Walter's shoes! Who are the other kids?

Bogie says...That photo is priceless!! Who are the other guys? And aren't you glad the folks at the zoo had dated the photos!! This needs to be framed! Ha!

This is the boys Sunday school class at the First Baptist Church. Everyones heart throb was R.E. Hodges, who is the boy on the top left. He left F.C. before we got to H.S. The boy on the left of Walter looking at the picture is one of the Threat boys.
I had a picture in the same booth made with Linda Flanagin Jumper and we had on cowgirl hats/guns and holsters when we were 12yrs old. The memory is still there and thanks for bringing it back to me.

Do you remembr Lynda getting in truble when Yall made me go get catsup and laid at the foot of the front drive? Damn. That was really awful. THey should have killed us for real. Oh do you rememer you giving me te chocolate x lax coming from a golden gloves in Jonesboro to see Booger?

Dora, seems like yesterday that we had to stop everywhere between FC and Jonesboro after eatting that "chocolate". I do remember those pictures in the back yard of all of us and you laying in driveway with catsup on you. I had a sick imagination and someone always went along with me. You hanging from the 2nd floor balcony of your house by your toe until someone came and rescued you. How did that happen? Surely, I did not have anything to do with that! I would love to have a copy of any pictures. I loved the one of Lynda and I at the Zoo but think I only had that picture.
